Bury your garden waste in the garden itself.

It is that time of the year when trees are shedding lots of leaves. Difficulty is we can't call it autumn. Delhi has such a large variety of trees that their cycles are not always matching with each other. Sometimes it is not leaves but flowers.

I find every day a large percentage of garbage which is collected from our colony is comprised of this waste from parks. Municipal trucks carry them to Ghazipur or some other "landfill" which are no more landfill. Large mountain is coming up in that place. This is where the fires rage as is the experience of Mumbai. It also means burning of fossil fuel to carry this garbage.

I recommend that all parks should recycle their organic waste within the park itself. Think of jungles. They remain pristine all through the year exhibiting their natural cycle. In each park we need to create a pit or trench and keep filling it with the waste. When it is near full, we cover it by the layer of earth and dig a pit in another corner. And so it goes on. The need for fertiliser would also be minimised.
